Hey. So, listen. Have you ever reached a point in your life where you think
hmmm, I’m getting a bit older. It might be time to start acting like an adult?
No? Me, either.
Well, I celebrated a birthday recently. March 2nd. 27 years old.
Someone asked me if I felt any older. I said no. Because I don’t. Most days I still feel like a child. Perhaps it’s the “baby of the family” in me. Or it might even be the “old soul” in me that has always felt I was born in the wrong era. Maybe because I’ve never felt “young,” it’s impossible for me to feel “old?”
That being said, while I don’t feel any older, I am getting older. Workouts are no longer solely an enhancement of life, they are becoming a requirement. Eating well doesn’t just make me feel and look better at this point, it is something I am required to do to live a long, healthy life (if I’m blessed to do so!)
Recently, while thinking of these things, it occurred to me that I have been taking advantage of my youth and all it has to offer. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve always taken care of myself. I eat well, I workout, wear sunscreen, brush my teeth, and wash my face … Overall, I make healthy choices and my body [both inside and out] are reflective of that.
But for years I’ve told myself that I need to get on a preventative skincare routine before reaching a point where I’m desperately trying to repair damage caused by day-to-day exposure of the elements. I’m not the woman who is excessively concerned about every line, wrinkle, and grey hair, but it doesn’t hurt to remain as youthful as possible for as long as possible. Plus, it just feels good to take care of yourself.
After years and years of all talk, but no action, I have finally dedicated myself to a skincare routine. I’m religious about it. I don’t go a day without it.
I’ve never had too many issues with my skin. Only slight discoloration of the cheeks and a random break out here and there. And now at 27 years old I am getting a few smile lines around my eyes and mouth. Even though I only have experience with these slight imperfections, in the three months of using this routine I’ve seen massive changes.
Lines are less prominent, pores are smaller and clearer, and discoloration has subsided. My face just looks younger. Fresh and glowy.
I wanted to be sure that my skincare routine incorporated products that are plant based, cruelty free, and vegan friendly. It doesn’t make sense for me to change my diet without being more intentional about the products I consume as well. While doing my research I came across a line called Olivella via Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop website.
Stay with me.
Many people find Gwyneth to be pretentious and un-relatable, I know. But the one thing I believe about Gwenyth is that she is unapologetically herself. While much of what she stands behind is not attainable to the average person, she stands firm in her mission to help others discover places to go, things to do, recipes to make, and more. She believes in making health and spirituality a priority and I can get behind that. After all, that’s what we’re all about on this blog, minus the $10,000 juicer.
When I came across Olivella Skincare on Gwyneth’s website I was confident this was a brand I could stand behind and I did more research. Olivella’s skincare products are made with 100% olive oil, and are plant based, cruelty free, all natural/vegan beauty with the mission to provide sustainable products that care for their clients and the planet.
I pair Olivevella skincare products with other exceptional products/tools and the result is one I couldn’t be happier with!
